How to include long description?
- To include a long description on a social media platform, include the description within the image caption.
- Contain the description within square brackets with the words ‘Image description’ or abbreviated ‘ID’ at the beginning, such as: [ID: ]
- If you have a website, you could also have a page with all your long descriptions on your website, and link to this page in your social media posts.
- You can use the alt text to let screen readers users know the location of the long description e.g. ‘long description contained in image caption’.
