Good practice for headings

When headings are used well they structure content into an easy-to-read and navigable format. Users will find it easier to locate the relevant information. A good example of the use of headings to structure content is the Wikipedia entry for Wales.

The page has a clear, unambiguous title which lets users know exactly what page is about, and each section (e.g., ‘Etymology’) is headed. The ‘History’ section is further divided into subsections, which are headed with sub-headings.

When creating headings, it is important that they accurately and descriptively label the section they refer to.
